The central scientific and educational organisation for surgical specialties: Laparoscopic and Endoscopic in Thailand.

The Laparoscopic and Endoscopic Surgeons of Thailand (LEST) is the central scientific and educational organisation for surgical specialties: Laparoscopic and Endoscopic in Thailand.

Founded in 1996 by a group of leading Thai surgeons, the association is dedicated to improve the standard of surgical practice and patient care, promote the development of international standard of surgery for the benefits of surgical society. The current president of the association is Dr. Vitoon Chinswangwatanakul and the vice president is Assoc Prof. Dr. Suthep Udomsawaengsup.

Our Mission

LEST Objectives

Provide postgraduate surgical specialties education and training for surgical residents and fellows in 2 specialties

Provide continuous medical education and professional development activities to increase the capability and efficiency of surgical practice for fellow members and surgeons

Improve standard of laparoscopic and endoscopic surgical practice and service by several measures of quality improvement such as patient safety measures, examinations and assessment, etc., encouragement and support of basic and clinical researches to enhance the surgical care by providing various research courses

Promote and support surgical research in Thailand by granting awards for best research papers, etc.

Enhance knowledge, skills and expertise in laparoscopic and endoscopic surgery
